    DMI-24 multimeter

    Menu in Datalyse

    Graphical measurement

Multimeter, thermometer and pHmeter all in one device. Minimum time 0.5 seconds.

You setup using the device buttons, Datalyse reads this setup and adapts the coordinate system.

Baud rate 1200, even parity, 1 stop, 7 data bit. Command "V" for version.

    DMI4 multimeter, version 1.20

    Menu in Datalyse

    Graphical measurement of a value.
Multitable of from 1 to 4 values.

The demonstration multimeter can measure current, voltage, resistance, frequency, temperature, pH and pressure.
There are four galvanically separated parts in the DMI4. This feature makes it possible to leave measurement probes connected while measuring something else. And it is possible to measure temperature, pH and pressure and Voltage/current/resistance/frequency at the same time when the device is connected to a computer.

The 4 sections are as follows:

    1. Temperature
    2. pH
    3. Pressure
    4. Volt, current, resistance and frequency

With Graphical measurement turn the central knob to the wanted function.

With measurements in Multitable turn the central knob to Volt, current, resistance or frequency if yo want to measure one of these quantities.

Baud rate 9600, no parity, 1 stop, 8 data bits. Command "V" for version.

DT4 temperature meter med datalog, version 1.10

    Menu in Datalyse:

Graphical measurement of one, chosen parameter.
Multitable, measuring from one to 4 parameters.
Log reading. The device is available both with and without a log.
    Setup the log.

DT4 means that the device has 4 inputs for temperature.

DT4 also has a relay which is controlled by the input 1 temperature. This function will be usable in the next version of DT4 and of Datalyse.

The log may contain max. 250 lines. Datalyse converts the time stamp to a running time.

Baud rate 1200, no parity, 1 stop, 8 data bits. Command "V" for version.

When reading the log, the baud rate is set to 9600. This means reading the log is reduced to an acceptable 30 seconds.

    EM1 energy meter with datalog

    Menu in Datalyse

    Graphical measurement.
Multitable in which all parameters are measured and viewed in a table.
    Summary. Measurements are not saved.
Setup log. Setup of all parameters.
    Reading the log.

The log is written to the table, graphs can be made later on.

Baud rate 1200 (9600), no parity, 1 stop, 8 data bits. Command "V" for version.

The 9600 in brackets means that Datalyse sets this baud rate at startup. This reduces the log reading time to an acceptable 30 seconds.

Notice that there is no menu (command) for resetting the log; it is reset when beginning a new measurement after having setup the log.

    Setup log

    Start condition:

    1: manual
    2: clock
    3: power level

The log is started manually by simultaneously pressing FUNCTION and RESET/SELECT buttons on the Energy Meter. If you choose clock, you do not have to specify a power level. If you choose power level, there is no need to specify a starting time.

    Log layout:

    1: automatic compression
    2: preset time

The log may hold 250 measurements.

Automatic compression means that every second measurement will be deleted when the log is full, making room for more measurements. If you choose preset time, the time between each measurement is calculated from the total logging time. Logging ends when the datalog is full.

During the log setup, the log will be readied for measuring. The datalog will not be deleted until the log is activated.

    FD4 function generator, version 1.10

    Menu in Datalyse:

    Graphical measurement.

    Frequency measurements are possible.

This is an early version of the FD4E.

Be aware that measuring frequencies less than 1 Hz takes some time (several seconds).

Baud rate 1200, even parity, 1 stop, 7 data bits. Command "V" for version.

    FD4E function generator, version 1.21

    Menu in Datalyse:

    Graphical measurement of frequencies.
FD4E setup, for control of all of FD4E's functions.

Baud rate 1200 (9600), no parity, 1 stop, 8 data bits. Command "V" for version.

The 9600 in brackets means that Datalyse sets this baud rate at startup. Otherwise, using the control panel with FD4E would be too slow.

    control:

    Setup:

You can control the overtones of a standing cord. Enter the frequency and press »Overtones«. The device will be set to 1st overtone, 2nd overtone...9th overtone and again the base tone.

Be aware that setting the FD4E to a certain frequency is much easier (faster) with the setup panel than the buttons on front of the device.

    Guess a note:

Random provides you with a tone. Try guessing the frequency; press Answer to see the proper answer.

    Sweep:

FD4E does not have a hardware sweep but you can make a sweep with Datalyse. The parameters are set here and the sweep is started from the main menu under »Start sweep«. Datalyse sends a frequency command to FD4E every time a time step has passed (minimum: 0,05s, maximum: 5,0 s). Before starting you have to set FD4E to Amplifier and an appropriate volume. If the pc has a soundcard the checkbox »Measure sound« will be active. This means that you can measure a sound signal as a function of frequency. E.g. you can show resonance in a cardboard tube.

The pc's microphone has an interval of 16 bits [-32767; 32768]. While measuring Datalyse finds the minimum and the maximum of the microphone signal and calculates the amplitude in %.

    MC24 counter, version 2.3

    Menu in Datalyse:

Elastic and inelastic collision, see collision experiments menu
Start A, stop B, t AB, Acceleration measurements
    Start A, stop B

    half-life
    half-thickness
    Poisson distribution

see also MC24E, which is newer, and for which all menu topics are available.

If you press both »function select« and »display result« when turning on MC24, the version is displayed. If the version number is less than 2.3, you should contact IMPO Electronic for a free upgrade to version 2.3.

Baud rate 1200, even parity, 1 stop, 7 data bits. No version command.

    MC24E counter, version 4.02

    Menu in Datalyse:

Elastic and inelastic collisions, see collision experiments menu
Start A, stop B, t AB, Acceleration measurements.
    Start A, stop B
    Passage time A
    ,
Periods of Revolution at A, e.g. for circular motion
Time of Oscillation at A, e.g. for the physical pendulum
    Frequency
    half-time
    half-thickness
    Poisson distribution
    radon measurements

Notice that MC24E can function as an MC24. But that doesn't do it, you should choose MC24E, which it is, if the display at startup shows that it is at least version 4.02.

MC24E devices of version 3.0 should be upgraded, contact IMPO.

Notice that the front panel buttons of the MC24E are unavailable when the device is connected to a PC.

Baud rate 1200 (9600), no parity, 1 stop, 8 data bits. Command "V" for version.

The 9600 in brackets means that Datalyse sets this baud rate at startup.

    MI-multiinterface

    Menu in Datalyse:

    Graphical measurement of one parameter.
Multitable, a number of parameters are measured.
Process scheme of 2 independent circuits.

MI-multiinterface is useful for process scheming, but only with a PC.

    Inputs:

    One 0- 200 mV.
    One 0-2000 mV.
    Three digital inputs (0-5V).
    Two temperature inputs (-150 °C - 1400 °C).

    Outputs:

Two digital outputs (0-5V) via opto-couplers.
Two relay switches (0-250V) and max 5A

Baud rate 1200, even parity, 1 stop, 7 data bits. Command "V" for version.

    Process scheme:

Circuit 1 outputs will be high until the temperature is above 30°C. Then the outputs will remain low until the temperature is below 22°C. Like a thermostat. In this picture, the temperature has been above 30 °C.

As you see, in circuit 2, the first voltage is greater than the second. This has the opposite effect. The output will become high when the input is greater than the start value. The output will be low when the input goes below the stop value, and it will not be high again until the input is once again greater than the start value. Just like a refrigerator.

At least one input and one output must be chosen (in the same circuit).

Also notice the other information about high/min: 0.76 67%

    and the total processing time.

    mVolt Meter

    Menu in Datalyse

Graphical measurement on one of 6 voltage input.
Multitable on 1-6 of the inputs.

There are 3 inputs (-199.9 mV - 199.9 mV) with an impedance of 1 Mohm

and 3 inputs (-199.9 mV - 199.9 mV) with an impedance of 100 kohm.

Baud rate 1200, even parity, 1 stop, 7 data bits. No version command.

At start-up, Datalyse sends a calibration command to the mV-meter.

The device is usable only with a PC, see also MI-Multiinterface.

    pH1000, version 1.10

    Menu in Datalyse

    Graphical measurement, pH is measured.
Multitable, pH and temperature is measured.

Baud rate 1200, no parity, 1 stop, 8 data bits. Command "V" for version.

    PT2, PT200 thermometers

    Menu in Datalyse

    Graphical measurement of input 1.
Multitable, table measurement of both input.

Datalyse can also measure with PT2 which has only one input.

Baud rate 1200, even parity, 1 stop, 7 data bits. No version command.

PT-200 sends "PT200 thermometer" to the PC when the device is turned on. This can be used to check the connection from the device to the computer.

    RM2 ratemeter, version 1.10

    Menu in Datalyse:

Half-thickness, slab thickness can be entered before every measurement.
Half-life (and other time dependent measurements).
Poisson distribution, a preset time of 1 second.

    RM2 has no datalog - RM3 has.

But it has an output for pulse measurement. This may be used with the MC24E.

Baud rate 1200, even parity, 1 stop, 7 data bits. Command "V" for version.

RM3 ratemeter with datalog, version 1.10

    Menu in Datalyse:

    Read memory, max 50 measurements.
    Read datalog, max 250 measurements.
    Reset datalog.
    Start datalog.
    Reset memory
    .

Baud rate 1200 (9600), no parity, 1 stop, 8 data bits. Command "V" for version.

The 9600 in brackets means that this parameter is set by Datalyse at startup. Otherwise, reading the log would take too long, now it only takes 20 seconds.
